THE MARK CUBAN FOUNDATION
Monday - June 10, 2019
Village Club of Lake Success
318 Lakeville Road, Lake Success, NY
We didn't let the rain stop us from having a great day.
Thanks to everyone who participated in #RPFgolf!
This event raises funds for the Ray Pfeifer Foundation, a 501c3 charitable organization, dedicated to assisting September 11th first responders, firefighters and police, with medical needs not covered by insurance.
Join us for the Ray Pfeifer Foundation Golf Classic post-tournament celebration. A cocktail hour will be followed by a special ceremony and dinner. We will be presenting an award to Jennifer McNamara and her son Jack of The FDNY Firefighter John F. McNamara Foundation. Jenn and Jack continue to “do the right thing,” from their efforts with Ray to get Zadroga extended, to honoring John’s legacy by helping countless others around the country.
Amy Freeze, Meteorologist at WABC-TV’s Eyewitness News, will be golfing with us then serve as our emcee for the post-golf festivities. Besides being an avid runner who has completed marathons around the country, a multiple Emmy Award winner, a certified SCUBA diver, a supporter of countless charities, the list goes on … Amy is also one of only a few women in the world who has earned Certified Broadcast Meteorologist accreditation from the American Meteorological Society. Thanks to Amy for being a fierce advocate for our first responders!
10:00AM: Check-in and Buffet Breakfast
NOON: Shotgun start
5:00PM: Cocktails, Dinner, Awards Ceremony and Auction
The attacks of 9/11 are still affecting the first responders who spent months digging through debris to find the victims in hopes of giving families closure. According to the FDNY World Trade Center Health Program, there are over 2000 active and retired firefighters currently battling 9/11 cancers and thousands have been diagnosed with other illnesses. With the imminent threat of future mesothelioma diagnoses, a cancer which takes roughly 20 years to develop, the number of people who will need our help will only continue to grow.
While the Zadroga Act covers much of their health care needs, there are gaps, as with any insurance. We at the Ray Pfeifer Foundation want to fill those gaps for our heroes who have sacrificed so much. These men and women of our fire and police departments have given their lives in the service of others. Your participation in our Ray Pfeifer Foundation Golf Classic will assist us in our goal to help relieve some of the financial burden placed on them and their families to help ensure a better quality of life in their darkest days.
